Power Amplifier Module for WCDMA / HSDPA (1920–1980 MHz)

SKY77174 PAM is a fully matched 10-pad surface mount module developed for WCDMA 1920–1980 MHz bandwidth applications. SKY77174 meets stringent spectral linearity requirements of HSDPA data transmission with high power added efficiency for power output of up to 28 dBm. The single GaAs MMIC contains on-board bias circuitry including input and interstage matching circuits. Output match into a 50 ohm load is realized off-chip within the module package to optimize efficiency and power performance. Skyworks InGaP GaAs HBT process provides for all positive voltage DC supply operation, maintaining high efficiency and good linearity. Primary bias is supplied directly from a suitable battery with output in the 3.1 to 4.6 volt range. No external supply side switch is needed. Setting VENABLE to zero volts accomplishes power-down.
