AccuTime™ Demonstration Platforms

To simplify integration of the AccuTime™ IEEE 1588 software in conjunction with NetSync™, Skyworks has partnered with manufacturers of SoC devices commonly found in network and wireless equipment. These demonstration platforms are intended to provide examples of how AccuTime™ and NetSync™ can be used in a given implementation and, in addition to details of the hardware environment itself, include guidance on the porting activity and IEEE 1588 performance reports.

AMD Xilinx Demonstration Platform

Skyworks has developed a plug-in FMC module to use in conjunction with the AMD Xilinx ZCU102 and ZCU216 evaluation boards to demonstrate AccuTime™ and NetSync™ functionality using the MPSoC and RFSoC family of Zynq UltraScale+ FPGAs. The FMC module contains an Si5518 or Si5403 NetSync™ clock along with a high-stability OCXO reference oscillator and an SFP+ Ethernet port, capable of supporting speeds up to 25G in conjunction with the FPGA, to allow evaluation of multi-port IEEE 1588 functionality. A Skyworks’ ready-to-run FPGA project including AccuTime™ can be loaded from the provided SD card to allow rapid evaluation of the solution.

AccuTime evaluation kit includes FMC module, SFP+ transceivers and fibers, SD card, SD card programmer and downloadable evaluation design. FPGA evaluation board is available for purchase separately from AMD Xilinx.

NXP Layerscape® Demonstration Platform

The NXP Glasgow evaluation board includes an Si5518 NetSync™ clock alongside an NXP LX2160A Layerscape® SoC and is the ideal platform for evaluating AccuTime™ performance on the Layerscape® family of devices. The Glasgow board contains a 10G/25G SFP+ optical port and dual 1G/2.5G/5G/10G RJ45 copper ports that can be used with AccuTime™. Also included on the board is a GNSS receiver module from u-blox to allow evaluation of AccuTime in Grandmaster and Assisted Partial Timing Support (APTS) modes.
