The Isolated CAN Evaluation Kit is a demonstration and evaluation platform for creating Isolated CAN solutions. It can be used in conjunction with CAN capable EFM32 Starter Kits (STKs) like the EFM32 Giant Gecko 11 Starter Kit or the Tiny Gecko 11 Starter Kit. It simplifies the process of creating an isolated CAN solution by offering an already built and functioning platform. The board schematics are available and there are examples that can be run on the EFM32 Starter Kits to communicate via isolated CAN. The board contains one digital isolator, two CAN transceivers, a 20-pin breakout header for easy connection, many headers for debugging and evaluation, and screw terminals for the physical CAN bus.

The Si838x evaluation board allows designers to quickly evaluate this family of products. The EVB is populated with a Si8384P and three different input networks, each representing a recommendation derived from the respective IEC 61131-2 digital input types at 24 V dc. The Si838xISO-EVB allows designers to quickly evaluate the Si8384P’s functionality and capabilities by driving either 24 V digital logic signals into the test-points labeled “EXT” or 2 - 5 V signals into the remaining test-points. The board facilitates quick evaluation of the devices’ key parameters and also includes test points on each devices’ pins to accommodate direct connection to the designer’s end system.

The Si8751-KIT evaluation board allows designers to easily evaluate and develop with Si875x isolated FET drivers. The boards come populated with the digital input Si8751. The EVB supports both DC or AC switching with jumper selectable options to evaluate power reduction and miller clamp functions. The Si8751-KIT evaluation board demonstrates how easy it is to replace electromechanical or solid state relays using the Si875x with a cost, power, and performance optimized FET.

The Si8239x evaluation board allows designers to evaluate Si8239x family of ISOdrivers. Screw terminals are provided to allow for quick evaluation of the devices’ key parameters. Test points are also included on each of the device pins to accommodate direct connection to the designer’s end system. In addition, jumpers are included to allow for manual setting of the devices input as well as the boot strap circuitry on the output if desired. The boards come populated with the Si82394 version of the family. However, jumpers provided should let the user replace the Si82394 with one of the dual input versions of the device.

Si823H2-KIT Si823Hx WB SOIC-14 Isolated Gate Driver Evaluation Kit

The Si823H2-KIT is an evaluation board used to evaluate Skyworks’ Si823Hx family of isolated performance drivers and comes populated with the Si823H2BD-IS3. The board includes test terminals to quickly evaluate device key parameters and can be easily connected to an external system. It also provides built-in footprints that allow testing of different features and additional components.
