Si8752AB-AS

Si8752AB-AS automotive FET drivers offer a simple way to replace solid-state relays (SSRs) or electromechanical relays (EMRs). Combining a robust CMOS isolation technology with a FET driver, the devices form a complete, isolated switch. Versatile inputs provide digital CMOS pin control (Si8751) or diode emulation (Si8752) to best suit the application, plus flexible outputs to support driving AC or DC load configurations. A floating secondary side DC voltage source is unnecessary as the self-contained product generates its own gate drive output voltage, reducing cost, size, and complexity. Si8752AB-AS devices eliminate the need for bulky mechanical relays which can be difficult to assemble onto PCBs and add switching noise to the system. Input side voltages are flexible from 2.25 V to 5.5 V supporting seamless connection to low-power controllers. The Si8752AB-AS is fully automotive qualified and its 2.5 kVrms isolation rating forms the basis for full certification to UL, CSA, VDE, and CQC.

Si8752 Isolated FET Driver Evaluation Kit

The Si8751-KIT evaluation board allows designers to easily evaluate and develop with Si875x isolated FET drivers. The boards come populated with the digital input Si8751. The board includes screw terminals for quick evaluation of the devices’ key parameters and also includes test points on each of the device’s pins to accommodate direct connection to the designer’s end system. The EVB supports both DC or AC switching with jumper selectable options to evaluate power reduction and miller clamp functions. The Si8751-KIT evaluation board demonstrates how easy it is to replace electromechanical or solid state relays using the Si875x with a cost, power, and performance optimized FET.
